Process Overview

1. Shop at PIE VAT's partner stores and pay the taxed amount.

2. Download the app, login, and specify your preferred payment method.

3. For purchases at individual stores, please complete the tax refund application at the store. (In the case of shopping at an environment with tax-free counters, please go to the PIE VAT station at the tax-free counter to apply for a tax refund)

4. The refund amount will be returned to the app for confirmation.

5. Withdraw the refund using your designated payment method.

How to Use PIE VAT app

1.Login

Download the app, register and log in your PIE VAT account.

You can log in using your Apple ID, Google ID, or email.

2. Input your personal information

Click the person icon at the main menu bar to input your personal information.

Click the + (plus button) to start the tax-free application.

3. Complete application at the store

Scan the QR code or input the 6-digit number claim code you received from the store.

＊If you are shopping at an environment with tax-free counters, please go to the PIE VAT station at the tax-free counter to apply for a tax refund.

4. Take a receipt photo

Please take a complete photo of the entire receipt.

※Please ensure the receipt is not folded, damaged or missing the receipt number at the bottom.

5.Capture the Passport

Place passport photo page in the frame for automatic scanning.

※ Please ensure that the letters at the bottom of your passport are not covered, and avoid obstructing the screen with your fingers while taking the photo, as this may affect the information retrieval process.

6. Capture Arrival Stamp

Please take a photo of the most recent entry permit stamp on your passport.

※ If your passport has been extended, please take a photo of the entry permit stamp prior to the extension.

7. Enter Departure Information

Select exit method, input the date of departure, and tap "Continue".

※ If you do not have a specific date of return, please input the valid period of your entry permit.

8. Confirm and Submit Tax-Free Application

Review the entered information, tick check-boxes, and "Submit refund request".

9. Withdrawal Method

① Tab the person icon at the bottom menu, then select "Refund Method" to set your preferred withdrawal method.

② Select currency

③ Tap "Withdraw" , review details and tap " Submit" 

④ After submitting the withdrawal request, it usually takes 5-10 working days to complete the process, depending on your bank or credit card.
